SECRETARY WORK DESCRIPTION

✟ Model a Christian lifestyle.

✟ Perform secretarial duties, as required, for Pastoral Staff, Committee chairpersons, LWML, and various other Zion organizations, including, but not limited to, correspondence, postings, mailings, etc.

✟ Maintain membership records including births, deaths, baptisms, weddings, new members, transfers, etc. and related files.

✟ General receptionist (answering phones, scheduling, receiving/giving information regarding all church programs, facility use and other).

✟ Prepare and maintain schedule of church volunteers for greeters, scripture readers, ushers, communion. Notify or remind volunteers as needed.

✟ Prepare weekly church bulletins for Sunday and any other special occasion services. Update PowerPoint/Keynote slides for all worship services.

✟ Transcribe and print weekly and series Bible studies.

✟ Maintain church calendar, attendance, worship Service attendance records, Communion participation and mailbox upkeep.

✟ Post and maintain weekly/quarterly/annual contribution records and reports.

✟ Prepare and maintain personnel files for church employees ensuring all necessary state & federal forms are completed (W-4, HIPAA, DOJ Form I-9, Confidentiality statement/agreement, Insurance Coverage, Copy of T. Rowe Price agreement, etc.)

✟ Maintain, by making all necessary additions and deletions to health insurance and long-term disability policies for active/current church employees.

✟ Maintain Memorial Fund records and carry out related correspondence.

✟ Carry out miscellaneous errands which will require automobile usage within the city limits of Lodi. (i.e. Bank deposits, post office deliveries)

✟ Collect and assemble document packages for monthly Consistory/board meetings.

✟ Collect and transcribe minutes for monthly Consistory/board meetings.

✟ Order and maintain inventory of office/janitorial supplies and other required materials.

✟ Maintain good office practices and procedures.

• Assemble & distribute next years offering envelopes

BOOKKEEPER WORK DESCRIPTION

✟ Perform "Full Charge" bookkeeping duties including, but not limited to, paying bills by preparation of checks for signature, bank reconciliation, updating & upkeep on bank accounts (signature cards, type of account, etc) monthly financial reports, occasional bank deposits, and maintain accounting on a computerized software bookkeeping system.

✟ Maintain Memorial Fund records

✟ Maintain accepted accounting practices and procedures.
