Philosophy, Mission, & Goals

Zion Child Care Center and Preschool is founded in Christian ministry. To this end Zion Child Center and Preschool believes:

We are dedicated to providing a Christian atmosphere where children will learn that they are a redeemed child of God who is called to be a disciple of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Knowing that these children are the redeemed children and disciples of Christ, we believe that we must:

- Love each child as much as Christ has loved us, giving Himself up for us.  Our teachers truly believe this and willingly seek to bring both Christ's love and their love to each child.

- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

- Provide a level of excellence in education that will prepare all children who attend to excell in the education environment that lies ahead of them.

- Fulfill these goals so that whenever a parent drops their child off they have the assurance and peace of knowing their child is loved, well-cared for and the focus of our attention.

Our curriculum emphasizes the truths of the Bible and reinforces parents as spiritual leaders while offering opportunities for creative expression, constructive play, social and emotional interaction communication skills, physical development, practice in reasoning and responsibility. We believe the primary area in which learning takes place is play, children learn by doing. Our center offers a “hands on” approach to learning. This style of early childhood education is designed to foster creativity and expand self-expression. Self-esteem and individuality are nurtured while providing children with a sense of belonging and acceptance.

We believe that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of center activities, including birthday and holiday celebrations, walking trips, field trips, fundraising events, social activities and corporate worship opportunities. Parents are welcome visitors in the classroom at all times.

We believe that children need a safe, clean, healthy and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially. By providing a healthy and safe Christian environment and the tools children need, each child can build a solid foundation that will carry them through a lifetime of growing, learning and service.

We believe in guiding children through their play. Through play, children will learn cognitive, language, physical and social skills.

Children go through different stages of development. We believe it is important to look at his/her stage and to plan developmentally appropriate activities and help him/her reach their full potential.

Mission Statement

Zion Child Care Center & Preschool provides full and part time care. The program provides a loving, Christian environment designed to be developmentally appropriate for children 6 weeks to 5 years old that are not attending Kindergarten yet.

Preschool programs are based upon the principles of developmentally appropriate practice. Our goal is to give each child a warm environment that encourages the development of socialization skills, independence, and positive self-image. Our experienced teaching staff embraces the view that each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of social, physical and intellectual development. Teachers manifest their respect for each child by encouraging them to think for themselves, to make decisions, to work toward their own solutions, and express their own ideas and feelings. We recognize and foster an active partnership between home, school and church. Zion Child Care Center is designed to assist parents in guiding each child in the ways and instruction of our loving God.

“We will guide your children in their spiritual and developmental Journey.”
