What We Believe

We believe in one triune God who has revealed Himself to us in three distinct, separate identities:

  • We believe in God, the Father who is:
    • Almighty
    • The creator of all the universe, which He made in six days through the power of His Word
    • Loving and gave His only begotten Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
    • Just and will hold all people accountable for their actions and beliefs.
  • We believe in Jesus Christ:
    • Who is the only Son of God
    • Who is our Lord and Savior
    • Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit

    • Who was born of the virgin Mary
    • Who suffered under Pontius Pilate
    • Who was crucified
    • Who died and was buried
    • Who descended into hell
    • Who physically rose from the dead on the third day
    •  Who ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty in a place of victory as:
      • Our High Priest
      • Our Advocate
    • Who will return on the final day to judge both those who are alive and those He has raised from the dead
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit, who:
    • Is our counselor
    • Sanctifies us for service in God’s kingdom
    • Gives us power to:
      • Believe
      • Witness
    • Guides us in understanding the scripture
    • Reminds us of what we have learned in scripture

We believe the Christian Church is the universal body of believers who have put their sole hope of salvation in Jesus Christ.  We believe the Church is both the Body and Bride of Christ:

  • As the Body, we are to be His personal ambassadors and carry the Gospel message to all the world.
  • As His Bride, we are to love Him with all our heart, soul and mind; looking forward with great anticipation to His return on the final day.

We believe that all mankind is sinful, that is, we fall short of the glory of God.  We sin whenever we:

  • Break any of God’s commandments
  • Fail to do what is right in God’s eyes

We believe the punishment for sin is death, both physical and eternal.  Eternal death is eternal separation from God and eternal torment in Hell.

We believe that Jesus Christ, acting as our great High priest, offered Himself as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.  To all who repent and believe in Him as the only Savior of the world, He grants forgiveness of sins.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return on Judgment Day, the final day of history.  We believe that He:

  • Through the power of the Holy Spirit, will raise the dead and bring them into His presence along with those who are living on the last day.
  • Will separate the believers from the unbelievers.
  • Will take those who have put their faith in Him to be with Him forever in the place He has prepared for those who believe.
  • Will condemn those who have rejected Him to Hell.

We believe that life is a gift from God and that God knows and loves each person from the time of his/her conception.  Therefore we believe in the sanctity of life and believe that abortion is sinful.  Only if the mother’s life is truly threatened may it ever be considered.

We believe that God has given us moral absolutes that are to be followed at all times.  These moral absolutes are found in the Ten Commandments.

We believe that God created man and woman, one for the other.  We believe that a man is to leave his family and be joined to his wife in marriage.  We believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant between husband, wife and God that is not to be broken until one spouse dies.  We believe that marriage is only between one man and one woman; anything else is sinful and an abomination in the sight of God.

We believe that God created male and female. Therefore, we believe that the gender identified on an individual's birth certificate is that person's gender. No surgery, hormone therapy, other medical procedure nor an individual's personal beliefs or gender preferences changes a person's gender or gender identification.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.  That it is our guide in life and the sole basis for our faith.
